Fastest Way To Shorten and Copy The Short URL With Goog.gl Using The Bookmarklet

We have previously posted about how to shorten any long URL with goo.gl URL shortener in google chrome or in any browser, today we have come up with yet another way to shorten the long URLs using goo.gl in any browser.

If you are looking for a way to create your own short URLs with goo.gl but without installing the Google Toolbar, here’s a bookmarklet for you

Goo.gl This Page! <— goo.gl bookmarklet
Simply drag this link into your browser’s bookmark toolbar (or add to favorites in IE) and you’re done. The goo.gl bookmarklet will even work in Safari and Opera browsers that are otherwise not supported by the Google Toolbar.

Google Bookmarklet vs Firefox Extension

If you are on Firefox, you can make use of this extension to create goo.gl links without installing the Toolbar.
The Google bookmarklet will pop up the short link in an alert box (as in the screenshot), while the Firefox extension will copy the short URL directly to your clipboard.
